WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — Last night, the General Government Committee recommend the Council of the Township of Whitewater Region approve the Chief Administrative Officer’s (CAO) workplace for 2020.

According to CAO Robert Tremblay, Council has approved a work-plan for the CAO to guide the work of Mr. Tremblay and the entire organization for the year since 2017. A summary of activities was provided for 2019 and the draft work-plan has been proposed, and accepted, for 2020.

“Section 229 of the Municipal Act, 2001 states the CAO is responsible for exercising general control and management of the affairs of the Township for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the municipality,” said Mr. Tremblay.

The 2020 work-plan is focussed on four objectives and includes 14 action areas. Resources, timing and results are identified to ensure the implementation of the strategic plan; review certain by-laws and their enforcement; improve corporate communications; lead efficiency and effectiveness projects.

The motion was carried, being moved by Councillor Charlene Jackson and seconded by Councillor Dave MacKay. The work-plan was shared with Township staff and an update will be provided to Council mid-year in 2020.
