WHITEWATER- The Township’s Municipal Emergency Control Group, comprised of the Mayor, Reeve, CAO and staff from key areas, meets regularly electronically to review the current situation involving COVID-19.

Residents and visitors should monitor provincial and health unit guidelines. You are asked to continue to maintain physical distancing (6 feet or 2 meters) and practice good hygiene.

With Premier Ford announcing that Renfrew County is entering Stage 3 on Friday, the Township of Whitewater Region would like to inform residents of the following openings:

-Sportsfields and Washrooms

Township owned sportsfields will be open to the public tomorrow. Physical distancing requirements still apply. Washroom facilities at Cobden Beach, Little Lakes and Veterans Memorial Park are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to ensure sanitation and cleaning. The washroom at Veterans Memorial Park may be open later when an event organized by Civitan is occurring at the band stand.

-Indoor Recreation and Playgrounds

Arena slabs will be available for booking by groups starting next week by contacting the municipal office. Play structures will be open to the public later next week. Check signage on site. Parents and users must ensure physical distancing with good hygiene. Bring your own hand sanitizer and/or wipes. Masks are recommended when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

-Municipal Office

As of June 22, the front counter is opened Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4L00 p.m. You are required to wear a mask to enter per health unit guidelines. Staff can be contacted by email or telephone. Please consider payment options including pre-authorized payment plans, after hours drop box, or payment online or at the bank.
