What you need to know about fire permits

WHITEWATER REGION — Fire permits are required to be applied for every year and are valid for two weeks. You can then call in and ask to renew your permit. Permits can be only be renewed two weeks at a time. Permits are required to be applied for every year. 

Area is to be no bigger then two meters by two meters. No fire shall be ignited before 6:00 p.m. and must be extinguished before 8:00 a.m. during the months of April to November each year, without permission from the Fire Prevention officer, Fire Chief or Deputy Chief. The Fire Chief and Deputy Chief can be reached by phone at 613-646-2282 and the Fire Prevention officer can be reached by phone at 613-633-0045.

The permittee shall keep the permit at the site of the burning operation conducted under the permit. The person in charge of the burning operation conducted under this permit shall produce and show the permit to any officer whenever requested by the officer. This permit may be canceled or suspended by an officer at any time. Every person who starts a fire shall ensure that he/she has adequate tools, equipment, and water to contain the fire.
