RENFREW COUNTY (Pembroke) – On October 23, over 80 local tourism stakeholders gathered at the Germania Club in Pembroke, Ontario to learn, grow, and make new connections, bringing warmth to a cold, rainy day. The OH!Tourism Summit, the ninth annual tourism conference and AGM held by Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization (OHTO), served as an opportunity to celebrate the success of another busy year in tourism and spark new ideas on attracting visitors to the region.

“Our annual conference is a timely way to meet with our industry,” noted Nicole Whiting, Executive Director of OHTO.  “Our region just wrapped up another busy summer season and attendees brought with them fresh perspectives on what they are seeing on the ground in their communities.”

Lending to the theme, Stronger Together, the day was filled with sessions describing how businesses and communities have leveraged resources and worked together to strengthen the local tourism industry and raise awareness of the amazing experiences available in the region.
