Serious collision on Beachburg Road

WHITEWATER REGION (Beachburg) — On September 18, just before 6:00 p.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Beachburg Road and Valleyview Road in Whitewater Region. The collision involved a farm tractor and a motorcycle that were both westbound on Beachburg Road. 

The driver of the motorcycle sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported from the scene by land ambulance. The driver of the farm tractor was not injured. It was found that the driver of the motorcycle was attempting to overtake the tractor while the tractor was attempting to make a turn when the collision occurred. 

The driver of the motorcycle, a 68 year old from Cobden, sustained non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the farm tractor, a 17 year old from Almonte, was not injured. The investigating officer has determined that no charges will be laid.
