RENFREW COUNTY (Renfrew) — The Renfrew and area continues to support Bonnechere Manor Long-Term Care Home. This ongoing support of the Home was very evident in response to the Home’s Family Council  request to replace a non-functional fireplace in the Great Hall for the Manor’s residents’ and their guests’ enjoyment.

The 25-year old fireplace was originally gas and did not meet current building code requirements. Family members Dennis and Dianne Briscoe requested that the donations made in memory of Dennis’s mother and resident Annie Briscoe go towards this replacement. Thanks to a suggestion by Ella Box, Chair of the Home’s Family Council, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 148 Renfrew, Ladies Auxiliary, also made a recent donation of $500 towards this goal.

“Not only did our Foundation wholeheartedly support this project; as donation funds allow, we would also like to contribute towards the replacement of the other non-functional fireplaces on all of the resident home areas so that all residents can enjoy them,” said Don Goulet, Chair of the Foundation. The Bonnechere Manor Foundation then made a donation from the recent Gala proceeds to turn this goal into a reality.
