COBDEN – Connor and Charlotte Holly of Alva Drive put together their own paper over the summer, covering their neighborhood.

Their mother, Rebecca Holly, shared the issue with the Whitewater News.

“Our daughter wanted to do a dog-walking service, she loves dogs. The shut down ruined all that.”

The children have made four issues of the publication, and are working on the fifth out of a planned six issues.

Neighbors were able to get the first issue free, and the remaining issues for a dollar each,

“Every neighbor subscribed for the five.” Holly said.

She said the children have learned a lot about layout and design from the project, which uses Google Slides, as well as about their neighbors.

“We’ve lived here for quite a few years now and we didn’t know what they lady on the end of the street did, and it turned out she’s a university professor.”
