Let’s Celebrate Him

Easter is just around the corner once again
And people say it will be so different this year,
No family gatherings or Easter egg hunting with friends
This year seems to be marred by unknowns and fear.

They are not seeing the bigger picture
However they celebrate, whatever they do,
Easter hasn’t changed this year
Perhaps it is me and you.

The message is one of resurrection
The earth puts forward the display of spring,
A kaleidoscope of colours and life renewed
Each year it is a wonderfully blessed thing.

Our families will be in their own homes
Some may be alone and feeling despair,
Take the time to give them a call
Let them know like Him you care.

It is still Easter in our homes
His anniversary will come just the same,
Let us not allow this virus to change us
Celebrate inside your hearts and rejoice His name.

Our world can arise from this tragic pandemic
One day at a time will gain back our lives,
But it doesn’t have to be different this year
If we only see this day through His eyes.
