Lest We Forget, Virtual

Dear Friends:

With the resurgence of Covid-19 and the restrictions imposed on gatherings, the Beachburg Lions Club has made the sad decision to cancel our traditional Remembrance Day Service this year. We normally work with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 550 in Cobden and money collected from our service is given to the Legion to be added to the Poppy Fund. This fund is used to assist veterans in their day-to-day lives. Unfortunately, the need for this fund has not been cancelled.

We respectfully request that you continue with your usual donation even though we will not be laying a corresponding wreath. In the past, the usual donation was $30.00 and if you are able, we ask you to forward that donation this year as well. The Legion in Cobden will be having a virtual ceremony and the names of donors will be read at that ceremony.

To make a donation please make your cheque payable to “Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 550” and mail it to:

Lion Jim Labow, 58 Lakeridge Trail, Beachburg, Ont. K0J1C0 by November 9, 2020.

Thank you in advance for your support and for your understanding. We encourage you to watch the Cobden virtual ceremony or other services on television or on you-tube at 11 am on November 11th which marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Yours in remembrance,

Lion Jim Labow, Beachburg Lions Club Remembrance Day Chair
