WHITEWATER REGION — The Beare family suffered a house fire in the home they were renting on the afternoon of Saturday, February 15. No one was injured, but according to Katie Trombley, there was no insurance on their house or household items and the family lost everything. The gofundme campaign, Beare Family Fire Relief, was organized by Mrs. Trombley on behalf of Megan Beare. Mrs. Beare is Mrs. Tombley’s daycare provider and good friend.

“They are in the process of buying a home, but will be without a home until their closing date, and they will have to replace everything they owned,” wrote Mrs. Trombley in a Facebook post. “Added expenses of accommodations, unemployment for Megan, and replacing their basic necessities have become a financial burden at the time. Any donation is so greatly appreciated.”

Donations of new or gently used items of clothing and gift cards are being accepted, as well as items such as furniture. Clothing sizes needed are boy’s size 4, girl’s sizes 5 and 6, men’s medium for a teenage boy and Mr. Adam Beare, and women’s medium for Mrs. Beare.

The online fundraiser has had 122 donors, to date, and has raised approximately $16 thousand of their $20 thousand goal. Donations can be dropped off at the Cobden Pentecostal Church, 17 Astrolabe Rd. in Cobden, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
