Cobden Agricultural Society hosts 160th Cobden Fair

WHITEWATER REGION (Cobden) — The annual Cobden Fair begins tomorrow and runs over this weekend at the Cobden Fairgrounds on Astrolabe Rd. until Sunday. Below is the daily schedule for the fair, as listed on the Cobden Fair’s website:

Friday, August 23

  • 10:00 a.m. – Gates Open
  • 10:00 a.m. – Exhibit Hall Opens
  • 12:00 p.m. – World’s Finest Midway Opens
  • 2:00 p.m. – Renfrew County Fiddlers
  • 4:00 p.m. – Rabbit Agility Show
  • 4:00 p.m. – BBQ Pork Dinner
  • 4:30 p.m. – Jon Lockhart Comedy Show
  • 6:30 p.m. – Horse Draw Competition

The Fair offers a one price admission and advance passes. Admission at the gate on Friday and Saturday is $20 and $16 on Sunday.

Advance passes are $16 and are available for purchase at the Cobden Agricultural Hall, the Scotiabank in Cobden and Beachburg, Rooney’s gas station in Cobden, Dahl’s in Renfrew and M&R Feeds in Pembroke until the businesses close today. Children ages two (2) and under have free admission, unless they plan to use the midway.

Since 1859, volunteers and Directors have been putting on this  event. According to their website, people have been coming from all over the Ottawa Valley to attend and many families make it a yearly tradition.
