A motion was put forward to reserve the commemorative naming of the bandshell in Veteran’s Memorial Park to rename the shell aft Patricia “Patsy” Moore, a driver for the Whitewater region who died of cancer in 2017 put forward by Ted Barron.

CAO Robert Trembley said they confirmed with her sister and her close friend that they would support the naming. The current council motion was to decide if they were to give public notice to the intent to name the bandshell, with the actual process beginning when regular Council resumed in September, with a ceremony in October.

Moore was a driver/operator for the roads department for the Village of Cobden and the Township of Whitewater Region from 1991.

“Definitely Patsy is more than deserving of this.” said Reeve Cathy Regier.

According to the motion outline, the notice will appear in the block advertisement and Township website for a minimum of 10 days.

A vote was called and the motion was carried.
