Break-ins under investigation

WHITEWATER REGION — The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a February 23 report of break-ins at two seasonal residences accessed via Highway 17 in Whitewater Region. 

The break, enter and thefts are believed to have occurred between early December 2019 and late February. The suspect(s) gained entry to the seasonal residences near the Indian River and stole several valuable items including cash, tools, firearms, an ATV and an outboard motor. Notable items stolen are listed below:

  • 2003 Yamaha Grizzly 500cc ATV
  • 12 gauge pump action shotgun
  • .22 caliber / 20 gauge over/under
  • .303 British rifle with scope
  • 12 gauge Mossberg bolt action shotgun
  • 12 gauge Cooey shotgun
  • .22 bolt action Lakefield rifle
  • TCS compound bow
  • 2hp Honda 4 stroke outboard motor

OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) are assisting with the investigation.
