A storm has come

I find it so intriguing as I watch the news
A microscopic virus holds the world in its grip,
Causing death and despair in its wrath
As fear and panic sets in, humanity slips.

Hoarding becomes an issue so quick
People are out to save themselves it seems,
But there are others who know what to do
Helping others by whatever means.

Call the shut ins you know are alone and scared
Offer to shop for them and do a door drop,
Phone your family, neighbours and friends
Don’t let the humanity inside of you stop.

Praise the workers who served you today
The grocers, medical folks, truckers and more,
So many people giving themselves to be at work
Leaving their families behind as they walk out their doors.

We will get through this too as in the past
Let your faith guide you through to the dawn,
And when the day comes that we are freed
The lessons learned should  continue on.
