WHITEWATER REGION – Whitewater Region council’s remuneration for 2017 totaled $150,616.38.
However, of that, $10,211.20 was paid by the Ottawa River Power Corporation and Ottawa River Energy Solutions, but to only one council member and a resident of the township representing the township. Mayor Hal Johnson received ORPC remuneration of $5,035.60 while Beachburg resident Bernard Tracey received $5,175.60 from the ORES.
Mayor Johnson was the highest paid council member with a total of $$29,894.93. Breaking it down, he received a base remuneration of $20,600.04 plus expenses of $4,259.29 and $5,035.60 from the ORPC.
Reeve Terry Millar and each councilor received a base honorarium of $17,044.08 as well as expenses.
Councillor Chris Olmstead lead the pack raking in $21,501.04 followed by Councillor Daryl McLaughlin at $20,433.03. Councillor Dave Mackay came in third taking home $19,580.65; Councillor Cathy Regier with $18,462.08 and Councillor Charlene Jackson with $17,761.81.
Reeve Millar took home $17,807.24.
